My first blog post, wait what?! Lord have mercy – there is A LOT that goes into creating a website with the intention of it being seen by actual people. I had my doubts that I’d ever get to the point of writing, but here we are. (breathes sigh of relief)
When I was a kid, I was a creative little thing. I’d make up songs and my own fairy tales. When I started school, all my Lisa Frank notebooks were filled with dreams of the amazing things I’d do as a grownup. 7-year old me had plans to be the next Britney Spears… except I’d live on a farm, have 9 kids, and a whole house just for my dogs.
Fast forward 20 years. I have a corporate job. My one dog and I share a house with my husband and our two kids. And I still can’t sing. Life honestly is a dream though, and the blessings keep on coming. That being said, it was time for a creative outlet. It feels good to own this little corner of the internet, and if this reaches just one person along the way, I’ll count it as a total win.
Behind the Name
Lovely Little Storm. I just think it sounds so cute. To me, it encompasses all things motherhood. It’s out of control pure chaos, but in the happiest way. Messy faces. Sticky fingers. Happy baby belly laughs and pink tutu tea parties. We take the good with the bad and have thrown “perfection” out the window.
When I chose the name Lovely Little Storm, a tagline immediately came to mind. “It’s not always sunshine, but we’re dancing in the rain.” I played around with it for a bit, but ultimately decided it was too cheesy and I scrapped it. The sentiment is still there for me though.

The Goal
For a couple of years now, I have wanted to start a blog. Looking back, I wish I would have started sooner. As I’m writing this, I haven’t even launched my site yet, and I already feel so much coming off of my chest. The thing about me is that I have a lot to say, but I won’t say it to just anyone. Honestly, not a lot of people know me on a deep level and it’s extremely hard for me to be vulnerable.
I know so many women will relate to me as I peel back my layers. Most of what I write will be about motherhood and raising littles, because that’s my life right now. I’m offering my perspective in a real-life, no bs type of way. I hope this site begins to feel like home for a lot of mamas in the trenches like me. I want you to smile when you see that I’ve put up a new post. If you feel alone, know that you’re not. This is just as much for you as it is for me.
