By now, you may or may not have learned a little bit about me. But this blog isn’t just about me! Those cute kids and the happy dad all over the site are my most favorite people in the whole wide world. I think you’ll like them! If not, there might not be a whole lot for you around here. Every single bit of advice I could give you stems directly from maneuvering family life with them in good times and bad. More on that in future posts. For now, let me introduce you to…. the Stoermers!

The Hunky Hubs

He’ll laugh when he reads that. I don’t think I’ve ever called him “hubs” in my entire life! Anyway this is my husband, Jordan, in his element out playing with the kids. He’s just the best dad! I always joke with him that he’s like one of those cartoon characters where they open up their closet and they have fifteen of the same outfit hanging up. You can pretty much always catch him in jeans, a Storm Insurance t-shirt, dirty boots, and some hat he got for free somewhere. That’s his weekday uniform, and on the weekend he trades out the boots for crocs (smh).

Not only is he a fantastic daddy, but also the most supportive husband. For years he’s been insisting every so often, “why don’t you start your blog, you’d be great at it?!” I never would have had the confidence to try this if it wasn’t for him. We’ve been through the wringer a couple of times, but through every rough patch we’ve remained best friends. He’s the one and only team mate for me, and I’ve decided I’m keeping him!

My Best Girl

If I ever have another daughter, I won’t be able to call her “my best girl” anymore. But for now, I’ll keep telling Heidi that’s what she is, and my heart will keep melting every time she replies with “you’re my best girl too mom”. My little Heidi Olivia made me a mommy 2 1/2 years ago, and that was truly the best thing that ever happened to me.

She is so beyond her years, and she has the most pure and delicate heart. There is CONSTANT singing and dancing in the Stoermer house, with stuffed animal audiences, and a bow at the end of every “show”. Her affection towards all living things, and her sassy one-liner comebacks that she seems to pull from nowhere… she amazes me! I think all mamas must feel that way about their babies. I’m totally biased and I’m her biggest fan, but I just know this girl will change the world.

The Blue-Eyed Boy

Mr. Brock Thomas! Those kissable cheeks. The toes, the rolls. There’s nothing about this boy that doesn’t make me want to just scoop him up and squeeze him! Brock is 11 months old, and I can’t seem to figure out where all that time went. Maybe it’s a second kid thing, but I swear I blinked and he was standing up and feeding himself his own bottle. He’s my easygoing, happy-to-be-there kid. As long as he’s slept and been fed, the boy is all smiles.

You may be thinking, he’s awfully big for a baby. And my-oh-my YES he is! He’s a solid Tonka-Truck, 99th percentile, clumsy bull in a china shop. But is there anything more endearing than a big, cuddly mama’s boy? I married one after all! There’s something so special and different about the bond between a mom and her boy. I don’t know what I’ll do if he ever outgrows snuggling his mama!

Our Chocolate Princess

Of course our chocolate lab, Lucy, gets a shout out! Lucy and her brother were dropped off on my family’s farm as puppies. It’s a sad reality, but that kind of thing happens a lot in rural areas with unwanted dogs and kittens. My sister-in-law took the pups in and went to Facebook to find homes for them. The boy was adopted that first day, but not Lucy.

Jordan and I were grieving the loss of a dog from months prior, and we had a four-month old baby (Heidi) to care for, so it wasn’t ideal to bring home a hyper new dog. However, the second I met her I fell in love. I told Jordan if she wasn’t adopted by the weekend, I was going to bring her home… which is exactly what happened! The vet presumed that she was about four months old. The same age as Heidi! My girls have grown up together and have been inseparable since day one! Lots of digging, ruined shoes, and muddy pawprints later, she’s still the furry puzzle piece that completes our family.
