This sippy cup review is the real deal. I bought every single one of these with my first child, and they’re still being used daily by both of my toddlers! They’ve each been run through the dishwasher hundreds of times, yet they’re still in near perfect condition and leak-free. Young kids throw things, they drop things, and they don’t travel gracefully with their hands full. Around here, if a sippy cup doesn’t do it’s job, it’s instantly thrown away or banned to the back of my cabinet.
Don’t settle for a leaky sippy when great, affordable options do exist! I have tried dozens of brands and have read countless reviews in search of the perfect sippy-cup lineup. And I must say…. this is it.

I’m listing this option first because they are my all-time favorite sippy cups! They come in budget-friendly multipack quantities of 3, 4, or 6. I adore the color options, and it’s a plus that so many of them are gender neutral. These cups are seriously indestructible, stackable, and a breeze to clean. But what’s even more amazing is that they are made in the USA, entirely out of recycled milk jugs! We’re totally stocked up on them – but while writing this I may have just convinced myself to snag another set. They’re that good.
2) Nuby Thirsty Kid’s Bolt
I wish I had 5 more of these! Now that Heidi is older, the cool-factor of a cup is of utmost importance. She prefers this unicorn cup over any other, and I find myself washing it on repeat just so she can use it. It has a lock on it that she can work on her own, so it’s great for keeping pesky little brothers out of her drink. This cup has gone everywhere with us since the day she picked it out. It doesn’t leak and it’s super easy to clean, so of course we’re big fans!
3) First Essentials by NUK Sip & Smile
I don’t think I’ve ever seen liquid come out of one of these bad boys unintentionally. This one has even taken a tumble down our stairs without making any mess whatsoever. Heidi was gifted a set of two for her first birthday, (classic style linked here) and they were my first favorite sippy cups we owned. Since then, NUK has updated the style of the cup, but the spout and lid still look the exact same which is what matters. The newer style is in the photo link above. Brock still uses the classic ones regularly because I like them so much, but now that I realize they’ve been revamped I need to snag him one of those too!
4) 360 Tritan Printed Wonder Cup
Of course it was the dogs that caught my eye with this cup! Is it not the cutest print you’ve ever seen on a sippy in your life?! It has an extra piece in the lid, which isn’t ideal for cleaning it, but once you master the reassembly it’s worth the extra step. It’s dishwasher safe, and it comes in at least 6 other prints. All of which are adorable! So far, no leaks as long as you get that little top piece pushed in properly. I would recommend this bad boy, especially for older toddlers who are super into prints like mine.
5) Dr. Brown’s Cheers 360
These spout-less cups are constantly in use at our house because they seriously do not leak. Also, they’re incredibly simple to clean and put back together. In my opinion, these are the easiest cups for babies to learn to drink out of instinctively, and the simplicity keeps them from getting frustrated. Then when it’s time to transition to a regular cup, I think this type of sippy eases that whole process as well. Something I’m a fan of with this particular option is the see-through lid. It makes it super-simple to see what’s in there, and when it’s time for a refill.
6) Munchkin Miracle 360
These are great cups, and they’re very similar to the Dr. Brown’s Cheers 360. We have several of them and I would not hesitate to buy another. I love that they come in various sizes, and the training handles are ideal for children under 2. Also, it’s the #1 recommended sippy cup by dentists for preventing overbites. The Munchkin Miracle definitely deserves it’s spot on the list, but there is one flaw that I can’t go without mentioning. If this sippy cup gets dropped directly on it’s head, it will spill out and make a huge mess upon impact, which doesn’t happen with the Dr. Brown’s one for some reason. It doesn’t happen frequently, but do consider yourself warned. They’re super easy to clean and I feel totally safe traveling with a full one down in the diaper bag.
7) Nuby Thirsty Kids – Active
This one is very similar to the Thirsty Kids Bolt that Heidi loves. The main difference is that this one doesn’t lock, meaning Brock can’t lock himself out of it! Perfect for that pesky little brother mentioned above, haha. He feels like such a big boy with this cup. And of course, like with all Nuby cups, the prints are seriously the cutest! We snagged the subtle buffalo one for our boy and I have a feeling he’ll be toting it around for years to come.
8) The First Years Baby Trainer Straw Cup
I love these. And they are the only sippy cups with straws that I will say that about. Plus, they are so stinking cute! Toddler cups with straws are a little more difficult to clean and reassemble than other types. But the reason this one makes my top 5 is because it has a stopper in the straw that makes it spill-proof. It actually does a good job of keeping liquid in the cup and not on the floor.
Heidi preferred drinking through a straw as a baby because she had a hard time figuring out how to tip her cup up to get liquid out (throwback picture of baby Heidi with her Minnie cup below, just because). The straw solves that problem, so these are ideal for babies who are just getting the hang of things. Warning – if they shake the cup up and down, this one will throw out a little bit of liquid. But it is still hands down the best sippy cup with a straw that we’ve tried – and that’s saying a lot!
